I've often wondered how homeless people become homeless. I'd always, probably like you,had the stereotypical thoughts that they were lazy, or didn't pay their rent, couldn't hold a job because of a drug addiction, ect. But I've always known that most just had something terrible happen to them. This is the case with
Mary Jane,
AKA "Princess Mary Jane"
Steve
and Me- Christy.

Steve and I have been together since 1994. He's 58 and I'm 39. I love that man to distraction and he's not afraid to tell anyone how much he loves me and how beautiful he thinks I am. He's about blind so that explains his misconception. ;-)
Steve and I have 4 children. Amanda-21. She is living with her fiance, Brett. I say fiance but I don't believe he will ever marry her. They just had my first grandchild. I've never seen her.

Caleb
Adam-17,
and Gage-16

were all living with us. Adam is legally blind and received SSI every month. Caleb and Steve did small engine repair. This was how we were paying bills.
I had just lost my job in December, working in a Dr.'s Office as a lab tech but we were making it. Having to pay bail money($1000) for us both was devastating. Needless to say, it was a major setback. We got farther and farther behind trying to make up the $1000 we lost. This led to a build-up of stress that exploded one fateful day in May.
Steve and I got into a terrible argument(I can't even remember over what) and had a physical altercation which ended with me having a shattered windshield and Steve having a broken nose.( I said I was sorry.)
The end result was the Police being called by someone saying they overheard me say I was going to kill Steve and my children-which wasn't true. We both got sent to the hospital for domestic violence treatment in the Psychiatric ward. I was sent to the local hospital. I didn't know where Steve was.
